Intel® SCS with SSD Pro Series Plug-in Deployment Guide

Client and Console Setup

Each remotely managed client system must be configured to provide access to the data generated by the Intel SSD Pro

1500 Series drives.

This configuration process consists of following major steps:

1. Download and install Intel SCS 9 on a management console system.

2. Install the Intel SCS 9 profile editor plug-in.

3. Extract the ssdpro.dll dynamic link library file, required registry key (.reg) files, and client framework files from the

Intel SCS 9 installation folder to a temporary folder on the management console.

4. In the temporary folder, edit the registry key file(s) to enable WMI to locate ssdpro.dll on the client.

5. For each managed client, do the following:

 Copy the DLL, registry, and framework files to the client

 On the client, import the edited registry file into the client’s registry

 On the client, install the Intel SCS 9 client framework by running framework installation batch file.

These steps are described in greater detail in the following sections.

Download and Install Intel SCS 9 or Later

Download Intel® Setup and Configuration Software (Intel®

SCS) 9.x or later to your management console system:

Follow the instructions in the Intel SCS User Guide to install

and configure the Intel SCS software.

NOTE: You MUST set up the Remote Configuration Service

(RCS) in database mode. Refer to the Intel SCS User Guide

for details.

NOTE: Figure 1at right shows Intel SCS 8.2 as the available

version because of the need to finalize this guide prior to

making Intel SCS 9 available for download.
