Intel® Setup and Configuration Software (Intel® SCS) allows
you to discover the Intel based platforms in your enterprise
environment, configure the Intel capabilities on those
platforms, and manage IT policies for them.
Intel SCS 9.0 has been re-architected to provide a modular
framework on both the management console and the
managed clients, a framework that allows you to add
“plugin” functionality and feature sets into an existing Intel
SCS installation (v9.0 and above). These “plugin” feature
sets allow you to discover, configure, and maintain various
Intel capabilities available on or for Intel based platforms.
For example, with the proper plugin, you can use Intel SCS
to tune your Intel® SSD Pro 1500 Series drives and collect
drive health data on them.
The Intel SCS framework lets you gather data from your
Intel based clients, including platform capabilities and their
configuration state, and store it in the Intel SCS Remote
Configuration Service (RCS) database, or pull it into your
own existing database. You can use that data to
automatically customize/enable/disable functions based on
their configuration.
Intel SCS’s modular design leverages industry-standard
elements like WMI and Windows PowerShell to support third
party solutions that are compatible with its client and
console framework, and allows for integration with
Microsoft* Solution Center* Configuration Manager.
